Six kittens are looking for the purr-fect home after they were found abandoned in the morning heat in Pool.
By chance, staff from the Pool shop of the Animal Hospital went out to their lorry parked outside and found the month-old kittens in a plastic picnic box, dangling from a piece of rope.
They were taken to the main branch of the Animal Hospital, in Redruth, where they are now being cared for.
Sally Moore, from the hospital, said that if the kittens had not been found when they were they could have died.
She said: "They're lovely very pretty, litter trained and very used to people. They're not afraid of dogs. It's just such a said thing, just to be left. If we hadn't seen the box they could have suffocated."
The group is made up of three male ginger kittens, one white male, one black male and one tortoiseshell female.
They are now desperately looking for good homes, particularly as the hospital cannot afford to keep them.
"We are a charity so we don't get any help. Bringing us these six kittens has cost us a lot of money," added Mrs Moore.
Despite urging people not to bring their unwanted animals to the hospital, it is at least the third batch of cats this year to be dumped at the centre.
Anyone interested in giving a home to one or more of the kittens can contact the animal hospital on 01209 313214. They cost £45, which covers the cost of the micro-chipping, worming and de-fleeing, together with compulsory castration or spaying when they are six months old.
